This consultation on Integral Mission is for Christian workers working in South Asia and South East Asia.

Participants will select from one of the following streams (for plenary talks, workshops and seminars) for the durations of the consultation:

  • Integral Mission and Relief & Development
  • HIV/AIDS - Caregiving and Caring for Caregivers
  • Micah Challenge - forming national campaigns across Asia
All 3 streams will join together for meals, worship, bible teaching and daily updates from each stream and there will also be opportunities to interact with fellow workers from around the region outside the formal program.

Changing weather patterns, rising sea levels, and an increase in the quantity and intensity of natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods and diseases such as malaria have the greatest impact on the poorest people in our world. Responsible stewardship of God's creation requires us to tackle the causes of change in the climate, minimise the harm associated with these changes and call for climate justice for the poor.

Governance: A Workshop for Christian Agencies in the Asia-Pacific Region

Micah Network is organising a ‘Workshop on Governance’ for the Asia-Pacific region during April 24 – 28, 2010 at Kathmandu, Nepal. The Workshop is for members of governing bodies/ councils/ boards of Christian agencies in the region, with their CEOs. The aim of this Workshop is: The governance capacity of Christian agencies in the Asia-Pacific region is enhanced to effectively demonstrate biblical stewardship of their vision and mission.

The Workshop is intended for members of governing bodies and CEOs of Christian agencies in the Asia-Pacific region. Registration is open to agencies which send no less than two members (one governing body member and the CEO). Participation of three members from one agency (two governing body members and the CEO) is ideal and encouraged. The Workshop is limited to a maximum of 40 participants.

Micah Network is happy to announce its Workshop on Training Skills (ToT) for the Asia- Pacific region to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal during April 24 – 28, 2010. The aim of this Workshop is that the Asia-Pacific region is endowed with a set of trainers who are skilled to facilitate better project proposal writing.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a project proposal writing workshop.

The Workshop is intended for individuals who are adequately skilled in project proposal writing and desire to be able to train others in proposal writing. Only those with some training experience are encouraged to register. The Workshop is limited to a maximum of 25 participants.

Micah Network invites you to its Asia-Pacific Consultation on Stewardship in Integral Mission to be held in Cha’am, Thailand from September 27 to October 1, 2010.

Aim:                 Effective Stewardship in Integral Mission in the Asia- Pacific region

 Objectives     By the end of the five-day consultation, it is hoped that participants will have

  • An enhanced biblical understanding of stewardship in Integral Mission
  • Identified key issues influencing stewardship in Integral Mission
  • Shared and acquired knowledge of best practice and skills for stewardship in Integral Mission
  • Been encouraged and strengthened in worship, prayer, fellowship and interaction

 Sessions      The Consultation will follow one theme each day

  • Stewardship... what are we stewards of?
  • Securing what we are endowed with... our bodies, resources, environment
  • Including the marginalised... the disabled, women, the poor, discriminated, etc
  • On accountability to each other, governance
  • Going forth to serve

The Consultation is divided into 13 sessions of about 60 – 90 minutes each with plenary sessions and group discussions. Case studies and workshops will be  presented by participants. IMPORTANT NOTICE: THE LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF CASE STUDY AND WORKSHOP APPLICATIONS IS EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 13TH, 2010

Simultaneous interpretation will be available in major Asian languages subject to demand.

Participants: The Consultation is open to representatives and individuals of churches, aid agencies, Christian organisations, and theological institutes interested in understanding accountable stewardship and who desire to become better stewards of the Gospel.
