Micah Network is happy to announce its Workshop on Training Skills (ToT) for the Asia- Pacific region to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal during April 24 – 28, 2010. The aim of this Workshop is that the Asia-Pacific region is endowed with a set of trainers who are skilled to facilitate better project proposal writing.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a project proposal writing workshop.The Workshop is intended for individuals who are adequately skilled in project proposal writing and desire to be able to train others in proposal writing. Only those with some training experience are encouraged to register. The Workshop is limited to a maximum of 25 participants.

The purpose of this Workshop is that the Asia-Pacific region is endowed with a set of trainers who are skilled to facilitate better project proposal writing.
NOTE: This event is NOT a project proposal writing workshop.
The Workshop intends that by the end of the Workshop, participants will have
- Gained an understanding of adult learning and learning contract
- Identified how a learning group functions i.e. its dynamics
- Acquired skills to
- Plan a Workshop
- Implement the Workshop
- Fellowshipped with participants in
- Worship,
- Prayer and
- Interaction in and outside of the scheduled programme
The Workshop is divided into twelve sessions*, not exceeding 90 minutes each, other than times of worship and biblical reflection of half an hour each morning, and the inaugural and closing sessions. Some of the topics and issues to be addressed during the sessions are:
- The Adult Learner
- Attitudes and Behaviour of the Trainer
- Planning a Workshop
* The Schedule included at the end of this document is provisional. The content, order and titling of sessions may be changed as appropriate for enhanced learning.
The Resource Persons Kennedy Dhanabalan is an ordained minister and Executive Director of EFICOR (www.eficor.org) in India. He has been actively engaged in training development workers over twenty years. He was till recently the Director of Development Education and Capacity Building in his organisation. Roshan Mendis is the Executive Director of LEADS (www.leads.lk) in Sri Lanka. He has been involved in community development for ten years and related training in addition to his involvement in theological education for over seventeen years. He is the Chairperson of the Asia Regional Co-ordinating Group of Micah Network. Roshan was a member of the MN Proposal and Reporting Format drafting and working group, and the MN Partnership Guidelines. Sundar Daniel is the Asia Region Co-ordinator of Micah Network. He has been engaged in responses to issues of drug use and HIV in India, both hands-on and supporting churches and NGOs. His training experience of about fifteen years has been in related issues.
The Workshop will seek to meet participant needs in the area of training skills primarily through participatory methods such as group discussion and tasks. The Workshop will be conducted in English only.
